Overview

The Wholesale Sales Manager is responsible for developing the wholesale business and strategy for an inspiring collective of contemporary luxury womenswear working with major department stores and boutiques in the UK, Ireland and international market. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in contemporary or luxury womenswear with a proven track record in achieving year on year growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the wholesale business in the UK, Ireland and International Market.
  • Devise and execute the wholesale sales strategy. 
  • Travel in and out of season four times a year from London to Paris as appropriate. 
  • Work to seasonal budgets and with Retailers to help build a sales plan for each season.
  • Grow department store presence in the UK, negotiating space, location, assortment plan, markdowns, profit guarantees, etc., with buying teams to acquire the best terms.
  • Line sheet creation for each designer collection.
  • Prepare all paperwork for selling including price lists, line sheets and order forms.
  • Ensure all deliveries contain a merchandisable mix of product.
  • Along with the Sales Administrator, ensure all available stock is shipped in a timely manner.
  • Support Finance in chasing all deposits and pro-forma invoices.
  • Agree order quantities and ensure minimum order values are adhered to.
  • Manage any exclusivity issues with the support of senior management.
  • Research new markets and prospect stores to continue the growth of wholesale.
  • Ensure sell through by style in existing stores is recorded, analysed and any poor results acted upon.
  • Competitor analysis to ensure the brand has a commercial product offering at the right price point.
  • Liaise closely with the team on post and after-sale follow through, sales analysis and sell through data to support sell out, maximising reorders.
  • As brand ambassador, provide retailers with training on product and proactively communicate the brand philosophy to the market. 
  • Work closely with production, retail, merchandising departments.
  • Provide end of season reports on sales, customer feedback, needs of the market, etc.

Qualifications

  • Wholesale Sales Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience specialising in contemporary or luxury womenswear.
  • Strong and current buyer relationships with leading UK department stores, online retailers and independent boutiques.
  • Expertise in devising wholesale sales and pricing strategy, negotiating terms and prices with buyers.
  • Proven track record in achieving seasonal year on year sales growth.
  • Well-presented and personable with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • A dedicated, hard-working and committed individual willing to invest in the long term.
