    As Business Development Manager for the consultancy arm of this leading fashion company, you will be responsible for developing business opportunities in the German fashion market. As market leader in their field, the company has hundreds of customers across Europe including many well-known fashion brands and retailers who utilise their consultancy service to help improve speed to market and streamline the product development and supply chain processes to improve customer engagement helping them expand into new market segments.


    The sales cycle is typically a 3-6 months process. The successful Business Development Manager will have a proven track record in B2B business development and/or consulting services within the fashion industry operating at senior executive level. The role requires apparel expertise and flexibility to travel around Germany to visit brands and retailers of all sizes and market sectors. Fluent German is essential.


    • Liaising with new and existing clients on development of contracts.
    • Set up of meetings with appropriately qualified contacts.
    • Partner with relevant team members to create winning proposals.
    • Anticipate and recognize any client objections in order to close sales.
    • Coordinate opportunities from prospect through to engagement.
    • Research and communicate information about target customers.
    • Proactively communicate news and insights on prospect organizations and contacts.
    • Gain and share internally an understanding of each client’s organization, processes, business strategies, product or service offerings and decision-making structures.
    • Work collaboratively with the internal team to define the approach and strategy for achieving client requirements.
    • Effectively negotiate with different levels of executive management to define project requirements promoting new ideas and ways of thinking in line with the project strategy.
    • Utilise industry expertise and insights to finalise contracts.
    • Participate in weekly team meetings communicating the status of opportunities and next steps.


    • Business Development Manager or Sales Manager with a minimum 4 years B2B experience in the fashion industry focusing on apparel from fast fashion through to luxury labels.
    • Fluent German essential.
    • Proven track record in reaching sales targets and KPI’s.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the business development process including financial, business and industry insights combined with consultative selling skills.
    • Proven ability to create compelling written collateral in a concise manner.
    • Self-motivated with strong communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
    • Able to listen to, lead and influence senior management.
    • Enthusiastic about contributing to a growing business.
    • Collaborative team player.
    • Comfortable presenting in group settings.
    • Flexibility to travel within Germany.
