Overview

As Senior Footwear Developer you will be responsible for the end-to-end footwear development process. Reporting into the Product Development Manager, working closely with the design team from initial design concept to production handover liaising daily with tanneries and footwear vendors in Italy to develop an inspired footwear collection that reflects the creative vision and meets brand expectations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 6 years’ experience in men’s or women’s footwear for a luxury house. Fluent Italian essential!

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with design to support the process of material sourcing, development and prototyping for the seasonal collections.
  • Support the Product Development Manager on creation of the development critical path.
  • Implement the development critical path for each style ensuring deadlines are achieved.
  • Coordinate the ordering of raw materials for prototypes and samples.
  • Daily communication with tanneries, suppliers and factories following up of prototype and raw material developments.
  • Creation of prototypes and samples managing the prototype and sample process in collaboration with Supply Chain, Merchandising and Vendors.
  • Accountable for the overall management of sampling technical packs, ensuring that the relevant pages and fields are loaded onto PLM (or any other alternative format).

Qualifications

  • Footwear Developer with at least 6 years footwear development experience for a luxury house.
  • Fluent Italian essential.
  • Experience developing footwear with Italian tanneries and vendors essential.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, experience of PLM/SAP an advantage.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly diplomatic, building smooth working relationships with internal and external parties to achieve the best results.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment and in achieving seasonal deadlines.
