  • Overview

    As Commercial Manager for this leading supplier you will be working closely with the design team to meet the expectations of several key menswear accounts a mix of brand and supermarket, attending customer meetings and taking ownership of the order from placement through to delivery. The role will work closely with production, planning, merchandising and offshore hubs involving travel to the Far East. The ideal candidate will be a highly organised, results driven Commercial Manager or Sales Executive with a consistent proven menswear track record, good lengths of service in each role and a minimum 5+ years’ UK supplier based experience in menswear.


    • Work closely with customers and the design team to develop new and existing business.
    • Sourcing of men’s formal and casualwear fabrics and trims alongside the design team.
    • Cost product through the most competitive route ensuring margins are achieved.
    • Agree prices and delivery dates with factories.
    • Manage the critical path for each customer.
    • Work with factories, production and planning teams to ensure pre-production and production dates are met.
    • Liaise with the off-shore Merchandising team to track garment deliveries ensuring they are on time in line with the critical path.
    • Oversee design and production samples working the Garment Technology, Design and factories.
    • Accurately manage the internal order book for each customer.
    • Update internal AS400 system in conjunction with factories.
    • Ensure capacity planning/production space/forecasting are managed effectively with factories.
    • Communicate with and meet fabric mills, negotiating fabric prices, minimums and lead times.
    • Possible travel to manufacturing sites as required.
    • Market research keeping up to date with menswear trends for a modern fashion aware customer.


    • Commercial Manager or Sales Executive with a minimum 5 years’ UK supplier based experience in menswear ideally a mix of formalwear and casualwear.
    • Proven track record in consistently growing accounts.
    • Good lengths of service in each role.
    • Excellent awareness of the menswear market including trends, fabric and trims.
    • Highly numerate and accurate with excellent attention to detail essential.
    • Expertise in garment costings and margin management.
    • Positive team player working effectively with colleagues and external partners.
    • Proficient in MS Office including Excel (intermediate to advanced).
    • Highly organised with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
