  • Overview

    As Wholesale Manager you will report into the Commercial Director with responsibility for ensuring that sales targets are achieved each season and all orders received on a timely basis. The successful candidate will a minimum of 5 years’ experience in luxury fashion specialising in Women’s Ready-to-Wear and Runway with 1 year’s management experience.


    • Implement sales strategy in order to achieve company targets for retention, growth and profitability
    • Recruit, train, manage, lead and retain the sales team.
    • Propose sales targets by store, country, region and channel.
    • Research new markets and prospect stores to continue the growth of wholesale.
    • Ensure sell through by style of existing stores are recorded, analysed and any poor result acted upon.
    • Analyse the competition to ensure the brand has a commercial product offering at the right price point.
    • Project manage showroom.
    • Attend range planning and pricing meetings to ensure the range supports the sales targets.
    • Contact new and existing customers to encourage them to attend sales appointments.
    • Prepare all paperwork for selling including price lists, line sheets and order forms.
    • Identify sales opportunities in new, or poorly represented, geographic regions, and ensure brand is appropriately promoted in those regions.
    • Ensure all new stores are signed off by the Commercial Director.
    • Manage any exclusivity issues with the support of the Commercial Director.
    • Present the range to all wholesale stores in accordance with brand guidelines.
    • Encourage all appropriate stores to place orders exceeding last season’s placement.
    • Negotiate payment and delivery terms with all stores and encourage them to move to the standard terms wherever possible.
    • Agree order quantities and ensure minimum order values are adhered to.
    • With the support of the Wholesale team, ensure all orders are keyed by the critical path deadline.
    • Negotiate any minimum issues or late orders with the Production Manager to ensure lost revenue is kept to a minimum.
    • Support the Wholesale Administrator in sending out all order confirmations by the critical path deadline.
    • Support the Finance team in chasing all deposits and proformas.
    • Attend regular production meetings and communicate any delays or issues to the customers where appropriate.
    • Along with the Wholesale Administrators, ensure all available stock is shipped in a timely manner.
    • Ensure all deliveries contain a merchandisable mix of product.
    • Carry out store training and trunk shows to ensure the brand is represented correctly in store.
    • Deal with any returns and ensure any recurring issues are communicated where appropriate.
    • Provide the Management Team with an end of season report including performance by store, market, product and lessons learnt.


    • Wholesale Manager or experienced Senior Sales executive with a minimum 5 years luxury fashion specialising in Women’s RTW and Runway.
    • Minimum 1 year’s management experience.
    • Fluent English speaker, ideally fluent in a second language.
    • Experience working with international markets ideally the USA or Asia.
    • Tenacious, assertive and determined attitude.
    • Good negotiation and presentation skills.
    • Interest, enthusiasm and passion for luxury fashion.
    • Dedicated, hard-working and committed, willing to invest long term.
