  • Overview

    The Product Development & Production Manager will be working closely with the design team and studio on collection development managing product evolution from initial sketch to production in line with the critical path ensuring the collection meets creative, brand and quality expectations working with sustainable and ethical suppliers on a unisex RTW collection. The successful candidate will have a minimum 6 years’ experience in luxury fashion specialising in production and product development ideally encompassing Men’s and Women’s RTW and be well connected with luxury factories and mills.


    • Create, maintain and manage the seasonal critical path for development and production.
    • Manage and track all aspects of the development and production budget.
    • Research and connect with new suppliers aligned with the brand’s aesthetic and standards.
    • Negotiation with suppliers to achieve margin requirements.
    • Allocate styles to factories based on manufacturing capabilities and price targets.
    • Establish strong relationships with new and existing suppliers sourcing new options as required.
    • Following the development of mid to high complexity styles from initial prototype launch and allocation to suitable factories through to production sign off.
    • Sourcing and development of all raw materials working with a wide range of luxury mills.
    • Tracking of raw materials, adhering to the seasonal calendar, ensuring all orders are placed and received within the correct time-frame.
    • Follow styles and raw materials from development to production.
    • Ensure accurate input of all style and product information into World On a Hanger including codes, prices, lead times, etc.
    • Establish and drive ongoing production quality standards.
    • Participation in fit meetings with design and technical, with responsibility for ensuring fit standards, quality and brand aesthetic are maintained throughout the collection development and production process.
    • Monitor the production progress, maintaining daily communication with suppliers throughout production process.
    • Identify opportunities for cost engineering improvement from show samples to production.
    • Manage the sealing process in line with the production critical path.
    • Involvement in bespoke, client orders and special projects as required.
    • Train and mentor team members, developing consistency, attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Build and maintain positive professional working relationships with suppliers, exceeding brand expectations.
    • Quality Control, overseeing shipping and logistics.
    • Identify and implement efficient systems and processes.
    • Develop the product development and production strategy in line with business growth.

    Measures of Success:

    • Collection delivery in line with target margins optimising product engineering and cross-costing where appropriate.
    • Achievement of critical path milestones especially sealing dates ensuring the end-to-end critical path runs to schedule.
    • Excellence in fit and quality.
    • Sourcing and building a strong supply base capable of working with ethical and sustainable raw materials.


    • Production & Development Manager with a minimum 6 years production development and production experience in luxury fashion, at least 2 years in a management role.
    • Expertise ideally in both Men’s and Women’s Ready-to-Wear.
    • Strong supplier network of luxury factories, agents, suppliers and mills.
    • Experience in the sourcing and development of luxury raw materials.
    • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent time management with ability to multi-task and prioritise.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, building positive relationships with internal and external contacts.
    • Proven track record delivering against deadlines and pricing targets.
    • Strong knowledge of garment construction and finishing.
    • Committed to achieving exceptional quality.
    • Excellent problem solving and good negotiation skills.
    • Committed to promoting a strong team spirit in line with brand expectations.
    • Software proficiency in MS Office and PLM systems.
