  • Overview

    The role of Freelance Creative Pattern Cutter will be working from initial design sketch through to final pattern and requires an eye for clean lines and structured silhouettes working across a multi-product Men’s and Womens RTW collection for AW19 using ethical or sustainably sourced fabrics with emphasis on achieving the highest standards of fit, finish and craftsmanship.


    • Creation of accurate first patterns working from designers sketch or toile, carrying out amendments through to final pattern.
    • Produce accurate and clean patterns working closely with the Studio Manager and designer.
    • Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge in garment construction and garment finishing techniques.
    • Work closely with assigned sample machinist to achieve an immaculate garment finished to the highest standard.
    • Ensure clear and effective written and verbal communication between design and the atelier.
    • Create thorough construction details for each pattern.
    • Accurately cost and calculate fabric consumption.


    • Freelance Creative Pattern Cutter with at least 4 years’ experience and a career track record in RTW and Runway fashion.
    • Affinity for clean lines, structured shapes and complex details.
    • Flexibility to work across mens’s and womenswear with a proven track record in both. This is a casualwear focused collection.
    • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and garment finishing techniques.
    • Experience working with a wide variety of luxury structured woven and jersey fabric bases.
    • Proficiency in producing accurate costings and fabric consumptions.
    • Ability to work well under pressure.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Positive and flexible team player with a passion and focus for creating incredible garments.
